Location: Salisbury Beach State Reservation
Observation date: 1/12/10
Notes: I had heard about this rarity that was originally posted on Massbird on the 11th of January. My sole intention was to try and observe this bird since, according to what I have heard, is only the 3rd recorded sighting in Massachusetts. While observing the Sage Thrasher, a flock of an estimated 12 Snow Buntings was flying around, landing on occasion around the parking lots and in the campground itself at Salisbury. I know this posting is late, but better late than never. There was approximately a dozen fellow birders there trying to catch a glimpse of this fantastic bird!
Number of species: 2
Sage Thrasher 1
Snow Bunting 12
